Hospice Revitalization Project
We are excited to let you know that the Dorothy Ley Hospice residence will undergo renovations in early 2024. The renovations will increase capacity, provide additional comforts, and improve the quality and safety of care. They include:
- upgrades to the two temporary hospice rooms providing us with 12 fully functional hospice rooms
- a new air conditioning system, an infection control isolation room, and an improved residential call response system
- an enhanced care team station and locked medication preparation room
- a new family care suite and family shower room
The renovations are tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-January and are expected to take about eight to twelve weeks to complete. All hospice services will continue to be available throughout the renovation period.
We are committed to minimizing disruption for hospice residents and families and ensuring a positive and comfortable experience. We are exploring the possibility of relocating our hospice residence beds to another facility in the area. Hospice care at this temporary site will continue to be provided by Dorothy Ley Hospice staff, physicians, and volunteers.
We will continue to share updates on our plans as they become finalized.

Our Hospice Revitalization Project will take place in two phases.
During the first phase we will be improving our residential care space to increase capacity, provide additional comforts and improve the quality and safety of care. The second phase will focus on making enhancements to our outdoor space.
