Why Volunteer at The Dorothy Ley Hospice?
The Dorothy Ley Hospice offers a unique and compassionate environment. Our volunteers come from all backgrounds, united in a common desire to help others during their time of greatest need. Volunteers interested in truly making an impactful difference in the lives of others, enjoy their roles here.
Hospice volunteering is suitable for dedicated and caring people who are interested in supporting palliative individuals and being present throughout their journey. Although it can be difficult for some, for many it is the most rewarding and fulfilling way to help other people. We offer both direct and indirect service roles, so depending on your level of comfort, you can provide help and support in a variety of methods.

Direct support roles include offering direct help and compassionate assistance to palliative individuals. This can include; visiting in either the home or our residence, reading to individuals, providing warm blankets, bringing cups of tea
Indirect support roles include administration roles, kitchen helpers, gardening volunteers, committees and fundraising opportunities
Training is necessary and provided for all positions.
Please contact 416-626-0116 ext. 235 or email info@dlhospice.org to find the role that is perfect for you.
