Strategic plan 2023-2028
Our strategic plan for 2023 to 2028 A Community of Care for Today and Tomorrow outlines how, together, we will work towards our vision of exceptional hospice palliative care for everyone in our community. We’re focused on four strategic directions:
- Inspire excellence in the development of hospice palliative care across our community… and beyond.
- Nurture, celebrate, and support our people.
- Grow our services and supports to be inclusive of everyone who is in need.
- Strengthen and sustain our capacity so that we can continue to serve our community for years to come.
2025-2026 annual report
Over the past year, we have continued to witness the profound impact that compassionate
hospice palliative care can have on individuals, families, and our broader community. At Dorothy Ley Hospice, we know that palliative care is not a single moment in time, but a continuum – one that requires care, connection, innovation, and support at every stage. Together with our staff, volunteers, physicians, donors, and partners, we continue to expand supports along that continuum so more people can access the care they deserve.
The report shares stories of progress—our first research study on motivational interviewing, milestone growth in our Community Palliative Care Clinic, expanded grief and bereavement supports, and a revitalized residence and brand.
Together, with staff, volunteers, physicians, partners, and community members, we are creating a hospice palliative care system rooted in compassion, equity, and innovation.

Accreditation
In the summer of 2025, our hospice received another three-year CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) award. The accreditation is a testament to our incredible staff, volunteers, physician partners, board members, and our collective commitment to quality care. The CARF International accreditation is a visible symbol that assures our community that we are committed to continually enhancing the quality of our services and programs.
