Celebrate, remember, or honour someone with a gift that has a lasting impact. It can be in memory of a loved one, to celebrate a special occasion, or to show someone support.

When you become a monthly donor, you help us sustain and grow to help more people and families access compassionate and dignified palliative care both now and in the future. Please consider joining our Circle of Care monthly donor group by committing to a regular monthly gift.  Our monthly donors receive special updates and a Dorothy Ley Tote Bag.

Any gift – large or small – matters. By donating you are helping individuals facing life-limiting illness and loss receive compassionate end-of-life care and grief support at no cost.

Leaving a gift in your will or through a life insurance policy is a thoughtful way to help others and leave a lasting impact on your community. Giving a planned gift is an important decision. We suggest you seek legal and accounting advice to ensure your specific wishes are carried out and that your estate enjoys the tax benefits of your generosity. Suggested wording for your will

Donating securities is a convenient way to give that offers favourable tax benefits for donors. As returns on investments increase over time, those capital gains are taxable, except if you choose to donate such investments directly to a registered charity.

By donating securities directly to the Dorothy Ley Hospice, you avoid capital gains tax and are eligible for a tax receipt for the fair market value of your gift. Not only does this method of giving offer smart financial solutions, but it can also represent a meaningful investment in helping the Dorothy Ley Hospice achieve our mission of fostering hope and dignity through exemplary care, advocacy, education and research for individuals living with the challenges of life-limiting or loss.

Form to donate securities

Corporate giving programs are often part of a company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. Many local businesses in the Etobicoke, West Toronto and Mississauga areas have supported our hospice over their years and we’d love for you to join us. There are different ways for your company to be involved with the hospice:

Matching gifts – You match your employees’ donations based on a defined amount (i.e. match the donation or 2:1 match).

Volunteer grants – employees volunteer for our hospice and your company donates money in support of the volunteer’s times or donates a defined amount.

Community grants – your company may be committed to supporting end-of-life care or grief and bereavement within the local community and offer grants our hospice can receive.

Sponsorship – we have various programs that could benefit from your ongoing sponsorship commitment.

The Doves of Remembrance Wall, located in the front hall of the hospice, is a place where those we love and miss are remembered.

Families and friends are invited to inscribe a dove for their loved one, which will be placed on our wall. A dove symbolizes love and peace; it is a tribute and source of comfort to those who have suffered loss. This is a beautiful way to memorialize your loved one, while helping to support our community.

Your thoughtful gift makes a meaningful difference in the lives of hundreds of families who are cared for by the Dorothy Ley Hospice each year. Once the dove is installed, families are welcome to visit the Doves of Remembrance wall at any time.

Working on our behalf, Donate a Car Canada will accept your vehicle for donation – as is. There is no cost to you, and the process is easy. Donate a Car Canada arranges the pick, sale and donation of proceeds to our hospice. You will receive a tax receipt for your donation.
