Celebrating Excellence: Dorothy Ley Hospice Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation
Published: December 4, 2025
“Accreditation reflects our deep care for those we serve and our commitment to deliver compassionate and high-quality service every day.” – Dipti Purbhoo, Executive Director, Dorothy Ley Hospice

Over the summer, our team at Dorothy Ley Hospice prepared for a three-day review with CARF surveyors. This accreditation is an important external validation process that confirms that our hospice operates with the highest standards of quality. It’s a chance for us to take a deep dive into our work and ensure we continue offering consistent, high-quality care to everyone who turns to us. It’s also a requirement for any funding we receive from the Ministry of Health.
After our review, we were delighted to be awarded a three-year CARF accreditation. In their final report, the surveyors shared thoughtful recommendations, but what resonated most was their deep admiration for our team. They described our work as extraordinary and genuinely special, and were moved by the compassion, dedication, and expertise they observed in every staff member, volunteer, and physician. They told us our care is truly inclusive and centred on individuals and families – something they saw reflected in every interaction over their two-day visit.
