Donor Spotlight: Why I Give Monthly, Geoffrey Elliott

“Being able to make a monthly donation no matter how small, is the perfect way to ensure that Dorothy Ley Hospice continues to offer their services to others and keeps alive beautiful memories from a difficult time.”

We recently welcomed a visit from Geoffrey, a monthly donor whose wife Ferne received care at the hospice for several months. His visit—like so many moments here—was a reminder of why our work matters so much.

Geoffrey shared what the hospice’s support meant to him—and why he chose to join our Circle of Care monthly donor community:

“Dorothy Ley Hospice provided an incredible team support for my terminally ill wife and myself 24 hours a day over a 12-month period both at home and eventually at the hospice itself – which made what would have been a nightmare for the two of us on our own both before and during the pandemic into a calming supportive family journey to the end.  I had to find a way to thank everyone involved at Dorothy Ley that would not just be transitory and fade away quickly but something that would be a constant reminder of how fortunate we were.  They still to this day stay in contact with me as their support never ends. Being able to make a monthly donation no matter how small, is the perfect way to ensure that Dorothy Ley continues to offer their services to others and keeps alive beautiful memories from a difficult time.  I will forever be indebted to Dorothy Ley Hospice.” – Geoffrey Elliott, monthly donor

Monthly giving helps us sustain wraparound, holistic care, and ensures that families like Geoffrey’s receive care when they need it most.

Thank you Geoffrey, and our monthly donor community, for helping ensure that no family faces this journey alone.
