The Gift of Art: ArtWorks for Cancer donation adds colour and warmth to the hospice
ArtWorks for Cancer (AWFC) donates over 40 pieces of curated artwork throughout our hospice, creating a welcoming and uplifting environment for all who visit.
We are pleased to announce a special addition to Dorothy Ley Hospice, made possible through a generous contribution from ArtWorks for Cancer (AWFC). Through their dedication to fostering healing environments, AWFC donated and installed over 40 pieces of curated artwork throughout our hospice, creating a welcoming and uplifting environment for all who visit.
A Vibrant Transformation
Thanks to AWFC, our hallways and common areas now feature a beautiful collection of paintings ranging from soothing landscapes to colourful abstracts. Each piece adds colour and life to our residence, helping to make our space feel more like home. The impact of these artworks has been immediate, and we’ve received thoughtful feedback from our residents, their families, and our team.
“We’re so grateful to ArtWorks for Cancer for their generous gift of art. Each piece is beautiful in its colours and the inspiration it provides. When residents, their families, our staff and volunteers walk through the doors and halls of the Hospice, they feel uplifted and inspired by the art they see.” – Dipti Purbhoo, Executive Director, Dorothy Ley Hospice.
Dr. Louie Mavrogiannis, Medical Director at Dorothy Ley Hospice, also shared that “the artwork offers hope and a reminder of life, which is what we try to instill in all our patients, helping them live the best they can. The artwork supports this endeavor.”
A Lasting Impact
The addition of these artworks has enriched the hospice experience for everyone who walks through our doors. By fostering a sense of peace and beauty, these pieces remind us of the importance of hope and connection, even during life’s most challenging moments.
