Strengthening our community care: Meet our new palliative care clinical coaches
Published: July 15, 2025
We’re excited to welcome our new palliative care clinical Ccoaches to the Dorothy Ley Hospice team. This initiative is part of a province-wide effort, guided by Ontario Health and the Ontario Palliative Care Network (OPCN), to strengthen high-quality palliative care in community settings. Dorothy Ley Hospice is excited to be the host organization for this initiative.

Welcome to our new palliative care clinical coaches Debbie Dell’Angelo, Katherine McKenna, and Lilla Vagaszki.
Our clinical coaches work closely with healthcare providers and community organizations to put into practice Ontario’s Health Services Delivery Framework and Model of Care for Adults Receiving Care in Community Settings by:
- Embedding palliative care programs within teams and organizations using a quality improvement approach;
- Supporting skill-building at the point of care, aligned with Ontario’s Palliative Care Competency Framework;
- Helping ensure equitable access to palliative care early in a person’s illness journey.
At Dorothy Ley Hospice, we’re proud to be part of this important provincial initiative to improve the quality of care for individuals and families across Ontario.
Together, we’re helping to build a more connected and compassionate palliative care system—one that supports care providers and ensures no one faces illness alone.
