$46,200 OTF grant from the Ontario Government improves community access

Dorothy Ley Hospice celebrated its 23rd annual Jack Cooper’s Hike for Hospice on Sunday, May 25 with a special visit from MPP Lee Fairclough, who recognized the impact of a $46,200 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant that funded vital upgrades to the Hospice grounds.

Local MPP Lee Fairclough joined the 23rd annual Jack Cooper’s Hike for Hospice fundraiser on Sunday, May 25, to congratulate everyone and acknowledge the work the Hospice has done as a result of the $46,200 Capital grant it received from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant awarded last summer was used to make essential improvements to the grounds of the Hospice.

“I am so pleased that patients and families at Dorothy Ley Hospice will be able to benefit from these beautiful outdoor spaces during what can be one of the most challenging times for people,” said Lee Fairclough, MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore. “The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s goal is to build healthy and vibrant communities, which aligns so well with this project and the incredible service Dorothy Ley Hospice provides in our community.”

Dorothy Ley Hospice has allowed for more community programming outdoors and improved client safety by repaving and expanding its patio and parking lot. These improvements have enabled the Hospice to expand its program hours, increase the number of initiatives it runs on site, and help individuals receive the healing benefits of being outside and closer to nature.
