Dorothy Ley Hospice Board Chair receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

Donna Cansfield, Chair of our Board of Directors and a long-time volunteer, has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal – a prestigious honour that recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities, provinces, or country.

Donna’s commitment to public service and community well-being spans decades. Since 1988, when she was first elected to the Etobicoke Board of Education, Donna has been a pillar of the Etobicoke community. Over the years, she has dedicated her time, energy, and passion to countless causes and organizations always with a focus on making life better for others.

Her leadership, compassion, and tireless advocacy have had a profound and lasting impact on Dorothy Ley Hospice and on hospice palliative care across Ontario. Whether guiding important decisions at the board level or lending her time as a volunteer, Donna continues to be a source of strength and inspiration for our staff, volunteers, and the families we serve.

This year, Donna also marks an incredible milestone – 35 years as a volunteer with Dorothy Ley Hospice. Her unwavering dedication to our mission is nothing short of extraordinary.

We are incredibly proud of Donna and deeply grateful for the wisdom, care, and integrity she brings to all that she does.
