Volunteers
From the very beginning, The Dorothy Ley Hospice has relied on a dedicated team of trained volunteers to help us provide our services to the community. The Hospice serves 500 people a year who are living with the challenges of a life-limiting illness or loss. And when you take into account the support offered to family members, we help close to 2,000 people a year. Clearly, helping so many is a big undertaking. Last year alone over 240 volunteers provided more than 16,000 hours of their time to help those in need.
If you are looking for meaning in your life, volunteering with The Dorothy Ley Hospice might be exactly what you need. You can help others in the community who are living with the challenges of a life-limiting illness or loss. Only with your help can we meet their physical, emotional, spiritual and support needs helping them to live life to the fullest regardless of how much time they have left.
