For many people, spirituality is found in religion. Others find it
in nature, music or life in general. It is about embracing the search
for meaning, purpose, values and beliefs in our lives. Supporting
individuals through this process is an integral part of hospice
Our Spiritual Care Coordinator is available to help individuals
explore their unique spirituality in-home, in-hospital or other
settings. Depending upon the individual's unique and diverse needs, the
Spiritual Care Coordinator offers:
- listening presence
- spiritual guidance
- facilitates clarification of ethical issues
- assists with funeral or Celebration of Life ceremonies
- facilitates connection with diverse local faith communities and clergy when requested.
The Spiritual Care Coordinator also serves as a resource in coping
with spiritual distress for individuals accessing Hospice services, DLH
volunteers, colleagues and community partners.
